The Walden Alumni Company return to present two original works by two Louisville playwrights who just so happen to be related. That’s two short plays each night. Hello, good deal?
“If a Body, Catch a Body” by Caitlin Willenbrink is the beautifully quirky story of a young artist using her fantasies as a shield from what’s really going on in her life. Mel Beck and Elliot Cornett, both previously seen in Savage Rose and the Walden Alumni Summer shows, perform in this piece directed by Ben Park.
“18” by Hank Willenbrink is the story of two young former lovers who have lost touch over the years. Memories of their past mix with their present as they rekindle what used to be. Sabrina Spalding and Ben Park, also previously seen in Savage Rose and the Walden Alumni Summer shows of past, perform this piece directed by Alec Volz.
This showcase is a preview of what’s to come for the summer and beyond. Show runs Friday April 5, 6, and 7th at 7:30 pm in the new black box at Walden Theatre. Tickets are $3 at the door. The two plays together run around an hour, with a very brief intermission.
About the Walden Theatre Alumni Company:
We stress young, local, new work while integrating Walden alumni and all forms of local talent. We want to be an outlet for young theatre professionals and a workshop to show off what can be done in theatre in this great city of ours. This is a project! And we want it to remain that way. We are very excited to get this off the ground and we hope to see you at the show!
