As our actors take the stage for the FINAL WEEKEND of Summer and Smoke (click here for info), take a minute to see what some former students have been up to…

Emily Albrink

Opera singer Emily Albrink (’00) performed in Louisville last weekend in Kentucky Opera’s production of La Boheme. She sang the part of the coquettish Musetta, one of the primary roles in the show. This is a return for Emily, as she performed the lead in Kentucky Opera’s The Elixir of Love in 2010. You can listen to last week’s interview with Emily from Erin Keane at WFPL News here (skip to the 36:25 mark).

Peter Albrink

After doing a turn in the Stephen King / John Mellencamp / T Bone Burnett musical Ghost Brothers of Darkland County in New York last year, actor Peter Albrink (’05) will be touring with the show this fall. And the tour includes a stop in Louisville on October 11. He plays the dead brother Jack McCandless. Dead brother, you ask? This should be good.

Wes Ramsey

Actor Wes Ramsey (’96) has been busy in L.A. since moving there after finishing Julliard. In addition to his many credits on hit shows like Charmed and CSI: Miami, he’ll be appearing in an episode of The Mentalist October 16, on Castle later this fall, and he’ll have a recurring role in the show Pretty Little Liars after the first of the year.

Susie Stephens

Alumna actress Susie Stephens (’80) will appear in the Actors Theatre of Louisville production of the comic, scandalous Tom Jones, adapted from the novel by Henry Fielding and directed by Jon Jory. The play runs November 12-December 8. Should be another fun show in Actors’ 50th Anniversary season.

Anna Byers

Student Anna (’07) just started grad school at Harvard Law. You might think law is a long way from acting, but only if you haven’t watched TV since before Perry Mason. Kidding aside, this is a huge opportunity for Anna, no matter where it takes her. Even if she’s busy with contract law. Congratulations! (Not sure if law students should break legs…)

Bennett Rink

In January 2013, arts administrator Bennett Rink became Executive Director of the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre company, one of the best-known dance companies in the world. He has been with the company since 1994 and holds a BFA in theatre. Taking the reins of an arts institution of that magnitude is an amazing accomplishment!
