Doctor Buchanan and the preacher’s daughter Alma have been close since they were young, and their lifelong friendship has withstood their incompatible approaches to life and satisfaction. But as the doctor prepares to finally settle down–with another woman–Alma finds herself stranded at a desperate, tragic crossroads.
Please join Walden Theatre in opening the 2013/14 season with Summer and Smoke, an American classic written by Tennessee Williams and directed by Artistic Director Charlie Sexton. The cast is made up of students from Walden Theatre’s nationally recognized Conservatory program for young actors and playwrights.
Summer and Smoke runs September 19-28 at Walden Theatre’s Nancy Niles Sexton Stage. Evening performances are Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays at 7:30pm and matinée performances are Saturdays at 2:00pm.

Evening tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for students and seniors. Matinée tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for students and seniors. For the evening show on Thursday September 26, matinée prices apply.
Box office opens one hour before each performance and house opens 30 minutes before showtime. Seating is general admission, and the Nancy Niles Sexton Stage is fully accessible. Patrons with special seating needs may call in advance.
