Acts-web-smPlease join Walden Theatre / Blue Apple Players for Acts of God by Mark Rigney, the latest entry in the Slant Culture Series of plays.

In the wake of a tornado’s disastrous track through a small town, 12 young people deeply affected by the catastrophe contend with a changed landscape of friendships and faith. Intense personal dramas are shown in a sequence of conversations and monologues revealing the physical and spiritual wounds visited on the community, and the ways these youth have found to reconstruct their lives, beliefs, and identities in the storm’s aftermath.

The Slant Culture Series, a now-familiar contemporary touchstone in Walden/Blue Apple’s annual line-up, produces new & recent works by rising playwrights that feature complex teen characters and situations. Slant Culture plays encourage the company’s ensemble of young actors to seek inspiration from their own experiences and backgrounds while drawing on their training in classic theatre and Shakespeare.
