Bennett Rink attended the Walden Theatre Conservatory in the mid-1980s and continued his theatre training at Syracuse University, graduating there with the BFA in theater. He joined the world-renowned Alvin Ailey company in 1994, working in various development and fundraising roles and eventually overseeing capital campaigns that raised more than $125 million toward building a new facility and creating a substantial endowment. In 2013 he was named the company’s Executive Director.

Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, lead by Robert Battle, is beloved as one of the world’s most popular dance companies, with inspiring performances of premieres and classics by Ailey’s extraordinary dancers. Louisville is the 10th stop on Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater’s 20-city North American tour, and in addition to the performance on March 15, dancers are conducting workshops for area students in cooperation with YPAS and The Kentucky Center’s ArtsReach.
