About the Play

Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead
by Tom Stoppard, director Jennifer Pennington

In this groundbreaking tragicomedy by Tom Stoppard, two fringe characters from Hamlet find themselves pulled inexorably, absurdly, through the many plots and twists of the original tragedy. Entangled but disposable, questioning their luck and killing time, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are left between scenes wondering if there might have been a moment, after all, when everything could have gone differently.
